Application of wavelet analysis methods to study the climate of the Arctic region

Abstract This paper provides an assessment of the possibilities and advantages using wavelet analysis methods in study regional mechanisms climate formation Arctic region by analyzing relationship between values air temperature anomalies at Earth's surface North Atlantic Oscillation index. It is shown that climatic indices have certain for identifying cyclical changes characteristics on local time scales allow in-depth spectral assessment. The conducted NAO SAT index (1950-2020) made it possible to estimate previously known natural quasi-cyclic oscillations with a typical period 7-15 years other dominant components their spectrum.
